I don’t consider L$399 to be free. Publishing Island is selling this book not giving it away. I’m there now
This doesn’t surprise me though, I’ve bought several SL Guides from Madddyyy Schnook. As a rule, they’ve all been missing things… full perm items weren’t, different items were included instead of what was in the tutorial (like the clock maker one) etc. Don’t even try getting an answer or any kind of customer service.
While SL Guides are ok for newbies, mostly what they’ve done is take things that can be found full perm and free in SL, write a quickie tutorial on how to use or duplicate them and sell them to the newbies for L$399 and up.
Nothing wrong with that as they are offering the service of gathering the items for you and writing up a short tutorial which is great as long as the SL Guide includes what it says.
the original post date is ONE YEAR pre your post, plus we have different books given away at different seasons,
this september and still we have BUILDING books being given away. And we do not have any freebies in our books.
and a quick tutorial on photosourcing clothes spread over 6 books, around 100 pages plus is hardly quick.
or making animations, weapons from scratch, our own scripters, editors, 90 percent of my tutorials are just books. business/marketing/social aspects.
i do agree the clock book was a horrendous pain in my inventory. lol. hopefully sorted. and i have my rl book now.
