We did have a very full discussion about the other options residents sent in and after considering overall costs, the location of the previous events, and facilities the choice was Tampa or Raleigh. We heard concerns of students saying it is in the beginning of the school year but there was no open date earlier at either location.

F.I.R.E. - Second Life’s first native political party Last week I noticed a press release from Second Life political party, F.I.R.E. (it stands for Freedom, Improvement, Respect and Enjoyment). Changes to Virtual Economies and the Dissolving Membrane: Metaplace, Second Life, Twinity A few developments seem like natural shifts in the nature of virtual worlds and their economies but leave me perplexed about the future. I’m not an economist and don’t really know the first thing about it other than what I’ve picked up in bits and pieces with my initial framework provided by Edward Castranova who helped me to understand the reason for the biases, misunderstandings, and flaws in virtual world economies.
