Microsoft’s Visual Studio Island

Category: Building, Developing, Places to Visit by Stone Culdesac

Just cruising around tonight and noticed a sim called Microsoft, and I don’t remember off the top of my head if I had ever read about Microsoft having an Island anywhere, so I thought I would check it out. It is near the MillionsofUs sims, Texas Instruments, Intel, some programmer coves, the Pontiac sims and the GossipGirl sims, which is where I got started tonight, don’t ask.

Anyway, this Island was nothing special, had the usual cool places to sit around and talk, a sandbox, which I did see some builders in, talked to Wisdom Streeter, who actually works for Microsoft and he said they have meetings on Saturdays, join the .NET Developers group inworld to get the updates. This place at the moment looks more like a fancy meeting area, but the notecard does say it’s still under construction.

From their notecard.

This is a place for the growing community of .NET developers in Second Life to meet, hang out, share knowledge and experiences in-world. We also have classes here on developer topics and even a Second Life Dot Net User Group too!

We also have a sandbox, where you can play and experiment with your latest creations.

Pardon our dust, but we’re still under construction here, working hard to make this an awesome place to get the best information on .NET. We have a lot of exciting things that we have in the plans, so keep checking back often to see what’s new!
