I first met AM Radio, creator of The Far Away wheat field in Second Life, at The Wall in Second Life, I was there talking to Bleys Chevalier, the Wall’s main developer, and AM politely introduced himself and proceeded to tell Bleys just how much he appreciated the build. He impressed me just from that little conversation and now that I have finally visited his wheat field, I think I was right to be impressed.
It’s a nice place for contemplation, but, it’s also fun to explore as well, my advice, touch everything while you are there, you never know what will happen.
My first example, click the top of the train and see what happens.
You can find something in the train to show you another train.

What: ConceptSL teams up with IGR for the fight against breast cancer with Operation ‘Rose For Life’
When: October 9 and 10, 2007
Where: Champs Elysees (Paris)
Description: This operation is organized to raise awareness about breast cancer, during Pink October, the international month for the fight against breast cancer.
October 9 and 10, 2007 on the Champs Elysees (Paris), will be organized an exhibition followed by an auction of exposed items. Items are donated by famous fashion designers and luxury brands. All Items and artistic creations will share a common point: they have to be pink !
ConceptSL organizes the Second Life side of this event :
The Second Life operation will be in two phases: a Second Life exhibition of items/creations from SL designers and an EBay auction of these items. To allow a maximum of people to see the exhibition and bid in the auction, the exhibition will take place from October 1st to October 10 on Second Life. Auctions will be opened on EBay in the same period. They will be closed October 10; and items will then be given to their new owners.
Second Life Designers
We are looking for items, objects, designs, artistic creations to prepare the exhibition. Items will be sorted in 4 categories : Furniture, Clothes, Accessories, Misc. A maximum of 20 objects will be exposed and sold for each category. Only one design constraint : the items must be pink (a pink painting, pink jewelry, pink dress, etc.).
The event will be hosted on Elyseum, in the exhibitions hall. All the sales profit will be donated to breast cancer research.
How can I contribute ?
To contribute to the exhibition, please send us the pictures of your creations by email : firstname.lastname@example.org. Submissions will be closed on September 20. You’ll be notified by email if your object has been selected for the exhibition. Selected objects will have to be transferred in-game to Yogi Huldschinsky (the organizer) [no copy + modify + Resell]
Man, not too sure about everything being pink, could be losing male avatars over that.

American Cancer Society to hold third annual Virtual Relay For Life in Second Life.
The event is today and tomorrow, but the fundraising goals have already been shattered by Second Life volunteers.
This year’s event, supported by the Society’s Futuring and Innovation Center, is expected to attract nearly 2,500 global participants. Volunteer organizers have already shattered their goal of raising $75,000 by raising nearly $90,000 (or $24 million Linden dollars, the official Second Life currency) to support cancer research and programs.
In addition to the Relay For Life event, the Society also is celebrating the recent opening of its virtual headquarters in Second Life. The new virtual building, which opened on June 1, is designed to provide the same cancer information and services to people in the virtual world as the organization provides in the non-virtual world. The building includes presentation and meeting rooms for cancer education sessions and fundraising meetings, and will soon feature a staffed link to the Society’s National Cancer Information Center that provides free cancer information 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The headquarters also features green space and gardens to showcase user-created art that expresses the personal fight against cancer.
