Description: Argh, ye slimmy bellied barnicles. I dare ye t’find t’treasure chests hidden around Pirates Cove. No map to guide you, you have to rely on your own intuition and instinct. Exploration helps greatly (little hint). Find all the treasure you want? Relax on one of the towels and soak up the sun, while relaxing to Ragge music. Get the itch to dance? No problem, visit the bar on the beach. Sail around the Cove in the provided ship, or be the brave one to board the Pirate Ship, the Black Swan. Lucky Chair, random prizes, but mostly, lots of fun to be had by all!!

Second Life URL.

Note: Some sims, like the Pirate ones, hold the same type of events over and over, so if you see a notice, like this one, that is out of date, it may be worth hitting the slurl to see if they are having one that day as well.

7 Wonders of the Grid

You know I had never really thought about it until now, but what are the 7 wonders of the world in Second Life? We have the 7 wonders of the planet Earth, well we have the 7 wonders of the ancient world, 7 wonders of the middle ages, 7 wonders of the modern world, we should have the 7 wonders of Second Life, but, I think this will be a little harder to pick as you have to either have been to everything in SL or know someone who has, as there are not too many sites that discuss the specific sim’s in real life, most articles reference SL as a whole, not its parts. So, let’s call this a treasure hunt as well, and let’s find some wonders we don’t know about yet, and maybe we can introduce new and useful ways to use SL virtual worlds in general.

Determining The Seven Wonders of Second Life

Criteria: The criteria are really quite simple (and, yes, subjective). The Seven Wonders of Second Life are the most creative and unique builds in SL that are well done and mind blowing. Not asking too much, eh? They don’t have to be educational but let’s keep it clean ;-)

Steps:
1. Review my nominations
2. In a comment or Trackback, add your list of seven including any of mine or others that have posted their nominations using the simple form below in My Nominations
3. After an extended period, I’ll calculate the locations receiving the most nominations to determine The Seven Wonders of Second Life.

Most importantly, have fun with this and enjoy experiencing some amazingly creative minds that exist within this virtual world (it is also a great time to ponder some educational possibilities… I know… I couldn’t let one post go by without saying ponder the possibilities in education). Source: Seven Wonders of Second Life

Here are the 7 he mentioned, these will probably be in my next 10 teleports I bet.

Nomination One: Greenie’s Home Rezzable - Second Life URL.

Nomination Two: The Pot Healer Adventure - Second Life URL.

Nomination Three: The Wizard Alley - Second Life URL.

Nomination Four: S.S. Galaxy Boarding Gangway - Second Life URL.

Nomination Five: Tombstone - Second Life URL.

Nomination Six: The Globe Theatre - Second Life URL.

Nomination Seven: Treasure Island - Second Life URL

Pirates Treasure Hunts

July 13th, 2007 | Category: Treasure Hunt

Saw this interesting looking event for today, July 13, 2007 in Dingo(132, 26, 56). “Be sure to join in for the ‘Pirates Treasure’ hunt at Knucklehead’s. There will be a Pirates Treasure Map in the store with your first clue which will lead you to the next. As you find each new location, touch it for a new note card with the next clue. Follow each clue precisely to reach your final destination, the pirate’s chest. Here you will find a treasure for both the guys and gals. Be sure to invite your friends and don’t forget to join the Knuckleheads Bar group for information on future events. While here be sure to check the lucky chairs (6 total). We also have a random prize sploder and the Red Rose Hunt is still here too. Good luck to all!”

Here is the Second Life URL.

Here is another on Crucial Creations Island(111, 149, 42). “Ahoy matee! Darrrre ye brave the challenge to find the burrrried treasure chests? Ye be findin’ the map with yer clues in the main shop. Be rewarrrded for yer lookin’ with the freebies you be findin’ in the treasure chests. Good luck! Arrrr!”
