Today I had the great pleasure of meeting Jenne Dibou in her wonderful world in Second Life. Jenne is a very imaginative and talented builder/designer in SL and some of her amazing work can be seen at the JD Mechanical Toy Factory, SOL Solution Island (201, 24, 318).
Her work is most impressive to say the least! I was visiting with a friend who suggested we go see some of her builds and I immediately felt like this was more than just another typical place. Upon landing you can see her attention to detail everywhere you look, from the sculpted buildings to the fine sculpted statues and highest quality textures she uses on everything she makes. Of course I had to buy a few items while touring…I just couldn’t resist the model train and her nifty little scripted backpack!
Jenne and her team create some of the most beautiful mechanical clockwork engine robots in Second Life. Steampunk and Art Nouveau designs in buildings, clothing and accessories.

‘Shotei Hanevuah’ literally ‘Fools of Prophecy’ was one of Israel’s premier bands, winning its Band of the Year Award in 2005. The band’s music was a fusion of reggae, dub, hip hop and dance spiced with an eastern Mediterranean flavor, with lyrics in Hebrew, Arabic and English. Both in Lyrics and sound the band conveyed in beautiful harmony a blend of East and West influences, including references to the Jewish Mishna and Kabala, alongside lyrics in Arabic and Middle Eastern harmonies. Though the band disbanded in 2007 this performance of 4 former members of the band, featuring a rich range of musical styles and lyrical content, testifies to the beautiful cultural and spiritual variety that makes up today’s Israel.

Metaverse developer Simuality LLC is seeking to help raise funds for relief of the horrible human tragedy in China’s Sichuan Province following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake which devastated the region this week.
Hosting their appeal in the virtual world of Second Life, Simuality will be turning over the very popular Club Mannequin for a 24-hour fundraiser. The club is one of the most popular locations in Second Life, and is a hub for nightlife and designer clothing, as well as being the future cornerstone of a developing virtual fashion and entertainment district. Club Mannequin is one of the highest traffic spots in SL, featuring urban styles and hip-hop music. Special guest DJs will be on hand to keep the party going.
Prominently featured in the middle of the dance floor will be an attention-grabbing donation kiosk, with smaller versions placed around the club and in surrounding areas. The event will take place from midnight to midnight (Pacific Time) on Saturday, May 17th at Club Mannequin in Second Life.
Virtual world donations are being collected in the Second Life currency of Linden Dollars. All monies collected will be donated to the International Red Cross to support their efforts to aid the hundreds of thousands of survivors of China’s major earthquake disaster.
